Six month update

I realize this six month update is just a little behind, but I wanted to make sure it was put on the blog. Andrew continues to grow like a weed. He is over 21 pounds and 29 inches long. He is in the 95% for both. He is rolling over and loves to scoot from one part of the den to the other on his back! We will soon be in need of baby gates for sure :) He continues to eat well. He still takes 4-5 bottles per day, two with cereal, but has now added five Stage 2 jars of baby food a day as well. I love the flavors they have! Apples and cherries, Ham, pinapple, and rice dinner, it is crazy! He seems to love them all and it seems as though we won't have too picky of an eater. We will probably start introducing table foods soon as well. Andrew is also recognizing words. If we ask him "Do you want to bounce?" he immediately starts looking around for his bouncer and then won't take his eyes off of it until he is put in it. If I ask him if he would like milk he stops and smiles and then waits impatiently for it (maybe I shouldn't ask first). He is also drinking juice which he seems to enjoy. We are starting him on a sippy cup so that he can begin to grasp the concept and start enjoying drinking out of something other than a bottle. Andrew's become quite the talker. I posted a video on my facebook page of him talking to his friend Blaire. I tried for days to get it to post on the blog but I couldn't get it to work. Sorry! We bought a laptop this past weekend so hopefully that will help me with the blog. I'll be able to blog while he bounces instead of while he sleeps which is really when I should be working :) Enjoy the new pictures!!

Oh The Places You'll Go!

It has been quite a while since I last blogged. Andrew turned five months old and increased in both weight and height (19 lbs and 28 inches). The majority of the reason for this lack of blogging is that Andrew has become a "traveling man". First, we spent a great weekend with Kevin for Father's Day. I can't brag enough about what a great father Kevin is. He truly loves Andrew and has so much fun with him. After spending a great Father's Day weekend with Kevin, Andrew and I loaded up and headed out for Bethlehem Family Camp. He was able to spend time with numerous family members and some of my best friends (Cindy, Colleen, and even Josh). He stayed in his Mimi and Papa's room where I'm sure they enjoyed spoiling him rotten :) Although the weather was extremely hot, he handled it well. He even was able to have his first experience in a pool! He really loved it and I can't wait for him to be in pool again soon. We returned home on Sunday with just enough time to reload the car for our trip to Wisconsin on Tuesday. That's right, our little man traveled through the following states in a two day period: Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Andrew is an amazing traveller and almost always handles the change in time and weather well. We are so lucky to have a baby that is so relaxed and flexible. In Wisconsin we stayed with about 18 of our favorite relatives at Kevin's parents (grandma and grandpa) house. We had a great time meeting one new niece and one new cousin, and we were even able to spend time with Kevin's aunt, uncle, and cousins from Canada. Aunt Carlean and Uncle Jimmy even made it up. We had an amazing time!! Andrew was able to participate in his first campfire where he watched us cook smores. He even had his first bites of frozen custard, a Midwest favorite!!

Andrew's first time in the pool. He loved it!! He would even kick his legs like he was actually swimming.

Finding a way to put his toes in his mouth. It looks painful, doesn't it?

All of the cousins! I love how it looks as though Cruz is comforting Callie :)

The Nursery

Kevin took these pictures of our nursery to share with his mom. I thought others might enjoy seeing them as well.

This bedding is called "Leap Froggy". I loved that it was gender neutral and that we can use it for our future children as well.

This blanket was given to Andrew by my dad (Papa) when he was at a conference in Mexico. Andrew loves how soft it is and sleeps on it in his crib.

My mom and I found this cross at a local artists store in Knoxville. We bought it many months before we had a clue we would ever receive Andrew and the verse has meant a lot to me during the adoption process.

Our friends Cortney and Andrew gave us this tile at Andrew's baby shower. I had never seen one before and I loved it! This is the same rocking chair that my mom rocked me in when I was an infant. Kevin and I have spent many hours in this rocker with Andrew :)

Four Months

It has been awhile since I've blogged due to our crazy schedules lately :) Since my last post, Andrew turned four months old. He had his four month check-up which was great. He now weighs 17 pounds and is 26 inches long. He is eating solid foods, which I'll save for a later post :) He is in the 90th % for weight and the 95th % for height. We love how big our little guy is and even though he still wakes up to eat every night, I'm thankful that we don't have feeding issues with him like so many of our friends and family have with their sweet ones.

Our First Trip to the Zoo

I know that when I decided to buy a zoo pass it was really more for my benefit as Andrew is a little young to enjoy the animals, but since he loves being outside and I love getting out of the house, I figured it was a good idea :) Andrew did great during his first trip, he even sat in his stroller for the first time without his carseat! It wasn't just Andrew's first trip to the zoo, it was his friend Blaire's as well.

One of the black bears. He really wasn't this close, we just have a pretty good camera :)
The penguin exhibit.
The butterfly exhibit was amazing!!

Our First Visit!

We had a great time with everyone on Tuesday :) We are looking forward to having another visit in July. We received an email from church stating that they need to delay Andrew's dedication since they accidently booked another dedication that day. We will let you know as soon as we have another date set. We hope you enjoy the pictures :)
